Our History
Premier Abstract, Ltd. is a boutique title insurance agency located in Somers, New York. Our vision has remained unchanged throughout our 40 years in the business: to provide personal, professional, expert title service.
The landscape in the real estate industry in our area bears little resemblance to the one we have known in the past. In spite of that, we continue to pride ourselves on understanding the importance of furnishing not only courteous and prompt service, but also high level legal title guidance to the attorneys in a transaction. We believe that, even in the midst of the many changes that have occurred in our industry, attorneys still value the need to afford their clients the most ethical and skilled legal representation they can.
Our objective is to act as an ombudsman, to help them achieve that goal, and to assist them in getting those clients to closing in a smooth and timely fashion.
Meet the team
Georgianne Berté, Esq.
Owner/Counsel
Georgie brings expertise and a deep understanding of the title insurance industry to her role, having worked as a real estate attorney and title counsel for almost 40 years. Her primary goal is to ensure that our clients receive the legal support that they need to best represent their own clients, as well as the personal service that they deserve, always keeping in mind that smart, prompt title clearance is essential to a smooth closing process.
After graduating from Fordham Law School in 1985, she began her career working as an associate for Jane M. Zwerner, one of the founders of Premier. The two became partners some years later and Georgie became sole owner of Premier in 2011.

Denise has been an integral part of our team for over 30 years. She deftly handles all aspects of title production. Denise's experience is evident in the efficiency with which she carries out her numerous and varied responsibilities, enabling Premier to provide the reliable service our clients have come to expect.

Helen has over 20 years experience as a valued team member at Premier Abstract. Whether working behind the scenes as a recording and post-closing specialist or out in the field as a client facing title closer, Helen is always at the top of her game, helping to further our mission to remain a client-focused, service oriented title insurance agency.
